Carroll's all round play
|
Very good in the last couple of games.
Was looking like he couldn't do much with the ball at his feet or get very involved earlier in the season other than heading it, but showed some great touches and passes in build up play today- notably for Valencia's goal. As well as being his usual menacing self in the air.
Starting to look like the player we were all envisaging and hoping for when we originally signed him.

His dribbling reminds me of wanchope
I don't know if that's a compliment or not
But he's getting back to the player we all hoped/thought we'd signed

Two players that I don't rate highly - Carroll and Collins were outstanding tonight albeit Collins still manages to make a goal costing mistake even when he is playing a blinder

What a performance from the big geordie! Encapsulated with the pitch length run to put a great and needed tackle in at the back late on in the game. He seems to be baking a huge fuck off humble pie to share out to a few doubting Thomases.

He was very good tonight, has good vision and awareness, just wish we could create more chances for him, not just crossing.

Thought he was immense tonight at both ends pf the pitch, his work rate when he ran back and put the tackle in was different class. Must be fucking horrible to have to play against.

he is technically a very good footballer and a lot quicker over the ground than people realise. I remember the Aesenal game when he gave Sanchez a good few yards start but just eased past him when chasing the ball back.
You pray the guy stays fit because if he does we've got a real player there who isn't as one dimensional as some people think he is.
